"Did you see the closing window? Did you hear the slamming door?"

Thank you, robyn_ma. I will now have the image of Tilda Swinton as Effie Trinket lodged firmly in my head for days to come. The fucked-up part is that it works. And that Tilda Swinton would, obviously, make a very sexy Effie Trinket. Yeah, it's messed up. (And I'll get back to you about the Hunger Games icon I actually want).

As I have said on Facebook, southern New England needs to declare a new month, Marprilay, because we get the same shitty weather from at least the end of February to the beginning of June. I don't foresee the idea catching on any time soon.

Yesterday, I proofread "Goggles c. 1910," which I'll make corrections to today (after a trip to the goddamn, dratted bank). There was also another interview yesterday, for the Dark Horse blog, and I'm thinking this will be the last interview I give anyone on any topic for at least a month. I'm reaching the stage where I seriously contemplate the cut-and-paste solution for certain questions. Today, I expect to receive the editorial letter on Blood Oranges (and "We always hate love getting editorial letters." – STET*), and I'm talking with my editor about potential cover images.

By the way, on Wednesday evening, at 6:30 p.m. EST, I'll be appearing at the North Kingston Free Library (100 Boone Street, North Kingstown, RI 02852). I may read from The Drowning Girl: A Memoir, though I may not. I am told this is a "family" event, and even Imp had trouble making it through a chapter without dropping F bombs. "Dropping F bombs." Jesus, what a goddamn dumb expression. Anyway....I may simply talk about my writing, or writing in general and how you ought do anything with your life but aspire to write professionally, or I may talk about about Paleocene condylarths. We'll see. I think they have me scheduled for two hours.

Oh, yeah. The damn bank.

Filing for Exemption,
Aunt Beast

* Oh, wait. Those are CEMs. But...same difference.
