idle chatter

Do I have anything to say right now? That post last night took care of most if of, I think. I've thrown my schedule off.

Today we do chapters Three and Four of Murder of Angels. And tonight I may try to work on the long overdue third chapter of The Girl Who Sold the World. I haven't written anything since I finished "Faces in Revolving Souls" last week , and I'm getting antsy. Isn't that to die for? I bitch and bitch and bitch about how much I wish I never had to write so much as another single, frelling word as long as I live, and then a few days without writing leaves me eager to get back to it again.

The air is filled with pollen, and Atlanta had an orange ozone alert the last two days. My allergies are on the warpath.

In seventeen days (counting today), I turn -0. I keep thinking that I should find code for a sort of clock to put at the top of my website, counting off the seconds to 12:00 a.m. May 26th. It's a shame Amazon doesn't carry liquor (they carry everything else); I'd add a few bottles of something extraordinarily strong to my wishlist.

Caught the trailer for the new Catwoman movie yesterday. As much as I appreciate Halle Berry, this one looks like something to avoid. It reminded me of those awful '70s made-for-television superhero movies. Why couldn't DC (or whoever) have followed up on what it started in Batman Returns? But the trailer for the remake of The Stepford Wives looks priceless. I suspect it will rock.

Webtender is quite a wonderful cocktail site, if you're interested. I had a look for some recipes involving the Green Drink of Doom but came up pretty much blank.

We went to see Van Helsing yesterday too. The Catwoman preview was greeted with shouts of "Lame!". Oh, and the egg sacks that contained the baby vampires are now affectionately known as Bat Sacks and Dim Sum.

catwoman indeed looks like ass inside another ass. a movie based on daniel waters' script might've been interesting. stepford could be entertaining; paul rudnick is behind it, though i am understandably skittish about him after marci x.

I've never read the current Catwoman series, but I remember seeing all the pretty, stylish preview art that Darwyn Cooke had done for it. When they first cast Halle in the role, I thought that was the direction they were going to go with the movie. Unfortunately, it looks like they are going the Batman And Robin route.

I loved Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. I don't see why they didn't build off this version of the character. DC really needs someone who can impose some kind of quality control on the movies that get made off their properties.

Your whim is my command. I've written a script that you can cut and paste onto your site, and placed it at http://www.canetoad.com/countdown.html. It should work on all browsers.

Catwoman looks absolutely atrocious.
I've come to the conclusion that Halle Berry, attractive though she may be, has no place in comic book films or horror films. She was about the worst Storm I've ever seen and I can't imagine she'll make a good Catwoman. (Especially not after I've been spoiled with Michelle Pfeiffer.)
