From time to time, the last year or so, I have said that I am writing too much. And two or three people have even, somewhat to my dismay, taken issue with the comments, as if an author cannot possibly be overworked. Anyway, as further evidence of the veracity of my claim, it was pointed out to me yesterday that "Murder Ballad No. 5," in Sirenia Digest #37, cannot be "Murder Ballad No. 5," since "Rappaccini's Dragon" (in Sirenia Digest #30) was, in fact, subtitled "Murder Ballad No. 5." Which means that "Murder Ballad No. 5" is actually "Murder Ballad No. 6." So, I will ask Gordon to please produce a corrected third version of the #37 PDF, and I'll have Spooky send it out to subscribers ASAP. I detest making stupid mistakes like this, but it happens.
Yesterday we finished with the first set of line edits to The Red Tree (Sonya's), and then began reading back over the whole manuscript, because I need to hear it all again before I sit down and write the epilogue. We need to finish this read-through by tomorrow night if I am to stay on schedule.
My thanks to
Please, please do feel free to post these on your own journals, websites, or what have you, as links to the sales page at Subterranean Press (which is here). Every little bit helps. I'm hoping to at least see the limited edition sell out before the release next month. Also, I understand that a second set of ad banners will be along shortly; choice and variety are good things.
I haven't mentioned WoW lately. Truthfully, I haven't been playing a great deal the last couple of weeks. But Shaharrazad has reached Lvl 54, and is presently trying to figure out why she's running errands for the Cenarion Circle and defending those loathsome night elves out in Felwood. The reason I've not been getting in much Wow time (aside from the Epic Extraction and work) is because, about a month ago now I very hesitantly returned to Second Life. A couple of acquaintances there persuaded me to try again, and so I have gone back looking for good rp. But I went back willing to leave again, if I couldn't find the only reason that I'm there. And I am pleased to say that I have been finding some very good rp. I have missed it immensely. WoW is fine, if you just want to shut your brain off and coast, but it can't compare to actual rp, when the rp is good, when it's straight-up improvisational theatre, and is not ruined by incessant ooc drama and nonsense. There was an absolutely brilliant, very elaborate, scene night before last, one I will not soon forget. My thanks to Beq, Joah, Omega, and everyone else who drew me in again, and accepted me back, and is making it work. For now, it's good to be back. I'll say more on this later, perhaps.
Time to make the doughnuts....
