Not a lot to say about yesterday. Sometimes, it seems as though the mission of this journal is to say as much as possible about very little.

It's slightly warmer today. Hubero and Linus are getting along; it was a short adjustment period.

Last night, we went out into the cold to see Steven Sebring's Dream of Life, the Patti Smith documentary, at the Avon on Thayer Street. It was beautiful. In every way. It was cool seeing footage from the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. We're so lucky to have the Avon. We can see films without going to a googleplex, and without enduring National Guard recruitment propaganda. One theatre, one screen. No nachos.

I think I've mostly been in a haze of pain and painkillers for two days now. Maybe three. It's all blurring together. Work that needs doing is not getting done. I'm getting behind. I don't seem truly fit for anything but movies and sleeping.

There are two photo of Linus, including a close up of his polydactyl forepaws:

Oh how I miss having kitties. I just travel too much and have no one to care for them. And I especially adore the blue-eyed breeds -- my last was a half Himalayan mix. She was beautiful, and boy did she know it. Miss Attitude.

I LOVE cats. They are frighteningly human sometimes. And such characters!

He seems healthy, aside from a little internal upset from the gradual food change and the stress of being in a new environment for the first time in 3 years.

Awww! You have a poly-cat too! :D

One of ours has her extra thumb particularly spread out, a bit longer than your kitty's... it looks like she has mittens. Trying to shut that cat out of anything... oy, impossible.

Oh, and I think he knows it. He's constantly chirping and mrrring and stretching up to try and reach the top of the counter when I am in the kitchen. And, unlike Hubero who mews like a kitten, when Linus meows he actually sounds like a cat.
They are so perfectly opposite and complement one another very well.

How cute! I long for kitties, and I've always wanted one of those beautifully big-pawed polydactyls. I hope Linus is helping you through the pain.

Also, because I was reminded today that it's a good thing to say it outright sometimes, I appreciate your writing. Whether it's your blog or your stories or your novels, the words you write always bring me comfort and help me see other worlds. Thank you.

I beg to differ
I am quite familiar with that look and it says wtf are you doing mom? the eyes of men are good to eat, savory luscious fare. but I'd never taste the eyes of YOUR CAT, even on a dare. his are pretty.

Blessing and Curse of the Thumb Cat
You'd better hope that he/she/it doesn't figure out that it can use it's paws to open cabinet doors. Noisy. Mischievous.
