Western Interior Seaway

"From the dusty mesa her looming shadow grows..."

A sunny and very warm day today. I'd not expected sun, much less the day's high. We reached 81˚F, and it's still 72˚F, at 11:22 a.m. My office window is still open.

Another good day today. Another McWane day spent on Winifred (but I took a break from the damn air scribe). Oh, and the lab's spiffy new scanning electron microscope (SEM) has arrived and I got to see it for the first time...well, yesterday, actually. It was a gift from Auburn University, and the company that manufactured it will be sending someone to train several of us to use it. It has a built in chromatograph, and the potential applications for vertebrate paleontology and biostratigraphy are almost endless.

Back home, Spooky got a rotisserie chicken and we started watching the new Amazon "limited" series, ZeroZeroZero.

That was today. Oh, and the long-delayed check finally arrived, so I can pay back my mom for the loan that saved our butts last month.

Later Taters,
Aunt Beast
