PreEntry Bonus: 7 Songs

I'm trying to wake the frell up, so I snurched this from pkbarbiedoll, 'cause it looked like fun and thought it might stimulate the grey matter a smidgen.

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to...

1. Great Lake Swimmers - "Various Stages"
2. Joseph Arthur - "In the Sun"
3. Ladytron - "Destroy Everything You Touch"
4. VNV Nation - "Arena"
5. The Decemberists - "A Cautionary Song"
6. The Dresden Dolls - "Half Jack"
7. CocoRosie - "Terrible Angels"
8. Erasure - "Always"
9. The New Pornographers - "These Are the Fables"

Yeah, so I cheated and did nine. Bite me. I tag humglum, scarletboi, setsuled, oneirophrenia, thingunderthest, cupcake_goth, aaaannnnd muruch. Deal.

Oh gods, I'm not awake. In fact, I'm not entirely certain that I'm alive. I may have died in the night and been too damn stubborn not to wake up and start typing again. The bags under the bags under my eyes now have bags of their very own.

Will someone please kindly explain to me what Kate Wilhelm has against contractions? I need to know.

Er...yesterday. Yeah. Right. Yesterday, I wrote only 818 words (four pages) on Chapter Ten of Daughter of Hounds. I stopped early to have some energy left for work on the subscription service website. Nonetheless, I did succeed in escaping the pile of soup cans and getting back into the aisle proper, so I was pleased. Hopefully, today I'll do a full 1,000 or 1,200 words. Maybe. There's still work to be done this evening on the erotica website, because I want to have it up and accepting subscriptions tomorrow. We worked on it until 10:30 p.m. last night. Oh, and I decided to have my cake and eat it, too. The PDF monthly digest will be known as Sirenia, but the service itself will be known as MErViSS ("monthly erotic vignette subscription service"; thank you again, Bev). Right now, Spooky's trying to figure out how we can use PayPal to begin accepting subscriptions now, but not charge anyone for the service until it the first issue goes out in December or January. Also, it looks at if Frog Toes and Tentacles artist Vince Locke will be our artist for the first six months, and I'm very happy about that. Finally, a special thanks to Sissy for hooking me up with FTP Thingy from Cthulhu Software. Anyway, I'll let you know as soon as we're operative. I hope we can have everyone who's expressed interest in the poll (which is still open and which I'm still watching) and elsewhere subscribed by the end of November.

I'm still unable to update at Blogger, but at least we seem to have isolated the source of the problem: some sort of software update that was done at Blogger on Saturday seems to have screwed lots of stuff up at Blogger and BlogSpot. Which just figures.

I took some silly quiz on LJ yesterday, some sort of "Which Action Hero Would You Be?" thing. I scored 100% Lara Croft, 100% Batman. A tie-breaking question placed me with Ms. Croft. Which is drad. I suppose Nar'eth could be described as part Batman, part Lara Croft. I mean, she'd really rather shoot you in the face than look at you, but there's this annoying "help the downtrodden" thing always nagging at her. Excuse me. This is what happens when sleeping geeks are allowed access to the internet.

Last night, too tired to see straight, I collapsed on the chaise and watched three more eps of The Outer Limits ("Specimen: Unknown," "Second Chances," and "Moonstone"), none of which seemed particularly good, but, in all fairness, I was pretty groggy.

Please have a look at the current eBay auctions. "Buy It Now" and get a monster doodle. Thanks!
