Addendum: dead air

Some days I just want to put the iBook away and never write another word as long as I live. This afternoon is like that, as was yesterday afternoon, and, now that I think about it, all of last week.

That would certainly be a shame. I just finished Sirenia #1 and "Madonna Littoralis" is one of the finest things I think you've written. It brought me back to my days when I first read Tales of Pain and Wonder. I think that story would have fit in beautifuly there. You're style has grown and matured over the years, and your novels show that metamorphosis wonderfully, but your short fiction is always breathtaking, most likely because it's such an instant gratification. When I first got the issue I thought I'd like the second story better for some reason, and while I do love the second tale, "Madonna Littoralis" just made my head spin in a beautiful dizzying blur.

Thank you.
