"In darkness be the sound and light." (38)

I'm not going to write about Peter tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

Today was mostly spent at McWane, trying to get the last of the photos I need for MP2. To that end, Jun Ebersole was an enormous help, teaching me how to layer together numerous images to create a single image with much more depth than would be possible otherwise. We were shooting teeth, to get minute details of the enamel's apicobasal ornamentation, which is very unusual in one of the two specimens and will likely be used as part of its differential diagnosis (the list of characters, or apomorphies, that set any given species apart from all others).

It was sunny, and that was a nice break for the days and days of rain. Our high was 84˚F, with a heat index of 88˚F.

It was good being back at McWane, the first time in a month. I'm hoping to start going in more regularly again, may twice a week. It's all about dealing with my fears, real and exaggerated, of the Omicron variant.

The morning was spent writing a new section for MP2, which I hope will prove to be the concluding portion of the Discussion section (which would make it the end of the main body of the paper), primarily concerned with issues of intrageneric diversity and niche partioning.

I also had a good email conversation with Steve White, who, as I said, is doing the interior illustrations for Living a Boy's Adventure Tale. We've planned three of the images, and he should have pencils for me soon to see if they'll work.

Please have a look at the Big Cartel shop. I'm fearing that taxes are going to put us in a bind this year, despite all our efforts to be frugal, so every penny helps. Thanks.

I leave you with a photo that could be captioned "What I Did On Wednesday."
