Listens: the day

"Yeah, it feels like hope."

Cooler again today, a cloudy afternoon. Our high was 89˚F, with the heat index at 96˚F. Anything beats a heat index of 114˚F.

I spent the morning on mosasaurs. After talking with Mike P. yesterday, I resolved to split MP 1.2, and once again deal with each specimen in its own paper. But...it's not like I'm back where I began. I've gotten a lot of work done, and I may actually be finished with a first draft of the new MP 1 with the next two weeks.

The Bradbury Weather ms. glares at me and growls whenever I glance its way. It longs to be proofread. I long to wake and find magical editing elves have come in the night and done it for me.

This afternoon's movie was George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). I don't think I even watch this film for the story, at this point. I go to it purly for the visuals. And last night we finished Season Five of The Wire and so finished our re-watch. This was our third time all the way through the series, and, more than ever, I think it may very possibly be the best thing ever made for television.

Oh, and I note there is a new season of Westworld, and I cannot for the life of me fathom why anyone bothered.

I think that's all for now.
