Listens: Glen Campbell, "Gentle On My Mind"

Not the Best Day, Not the Worst

Stormy morning sunny afternoon, and then the rain and thunder came back. So, not bad. Our high was a mere 75˚F.

I was up at 7 a.m. and back to work on "Living a Boy's Adventure Tale." I did line edits on the first two sections, and then I broke down and wrote a "missing" section, one I'd meant to write, and then forgot and tried to tell myself the story didn't actually need it. But it did. And now story is whole, I hope. And I hope I can complete the first round of line edits tomorrow morning.

Today's movie was J.J. Abrams' Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013). Of the Abrams Star Trek films that he actually directed, this is likely my favorite. For one thing, Zachary Quinto's performance is so dead on.

Last night finally saw the first episode of Prehistoric Planet, "Coasts," the one devoted mostly to the Late Cretaceous seas, to pterosaurs, mosasaurs, and elasmosaurs, and I was absolutely delighted. I been waiting on this for many months, and it was just absolutely beautiful. Yes, the mosasaurs were very well done. There are still four episodes in the series to go (AppleTV+), one each night this week. I strongly recommend that you join in, if you have not already. Oh, and I did not even mention the bioluminescent ammonite sex!

Also, we saw the last two episodes of Night Skies and it closed very, very well. Simmons and Spacek really made the show.

Please have a look at the Big Cartel shop. It's almost as cool a ammonite sex.
