Die, Winter. Die.
Not that winter in Alabama amounts to much more than a chilly wet season. Mostly, it's the absence of green that gets to me here. A sunny day today, and our high was 77˚F, which it still is, and my office windows are open.
I was awake at 5:30 a.m. (ugh) and up at 6, and yet I had an insanely productive day. I've gone from being horribly behind on Sirenia Digest to being caught up, plus one. This morning, I put together SD 194. And I handled an amazing amount of email today, to a dizzying variety of folks – scientific, literary, etc.
I'm working on my genealogical thing at Ancestry.com again.
And the new Guild Wars 2 expansion dropped on Monday, "End of Dragons," so there been a lot of time spent in Tyria.
I've resolved that my self-isolation, which last two years, and led to stretches in excess of one month when I did not leave the house, has ended. In the beginning, it was good, the right thing to do, necessary. But I have spent my life too near the borders of hermitdom, and it pushed me the rest of the way over the line. I went out this afternoon long enough to get a photo of blooming Narcissus (below), just as proof that winter's all but gone. I will now be back out in the world. I'll will avoided things like movie theaters and likely restaurants (but I'd mostly stopped eating in restaurants about ten years ago). And yes, I will still wear my mask, and I will be careful. But I have my booster, and I will get them as often as I may.
Monday, I go into McWane.
Here, look at eBay. Thanks.
Oh, in March and April I have to write a story for a forthcoming "Cosmic Horror" issue of Weird Tales (yes, it's back again), so I've got to figure out what.
Later Tater Beans,
Aunt Beast
