"Fold it like a flag, hold it 'til the dark runs out."

Sunny here today. Our high was 93˚F, with a heat index of 100˚F. Currently, it's 91˚F, with the heat index at 99˚F.

As of today, the Pfizer vaccine has FDA approval, which will lead to changes, even if they are only small changes.

I am trying to work, but the gravity of depression and fear is taking away both motivation and focus. I have two stories languishing. I have a paleontological paper languishing. I spent half the day today reading about the history of nuclear and quantum physics, amazed I was able to concentrate on that. Later, I tried to right a little on a summary of the history of plioplatecarpine mosasaur taxonomy and phylogenetics, and...no.

I sent a few last-minute notes to Bill and Geralyn at Subterranean Press about Vile Affections and Cambrian Tales. I think both books are going away to the printer this week. Or soon. Don't quote me.

A new issue issue of Ichthyology and Herpetology came today, so there's that.

The afternoon's comfort movie was J.J. Abrams' Star Trek (2009).

Last night, we finished watching all 113 episodes of Superstore (November 30, 2015-March 25, 2021) for the second time in less than a year. And then we watched the first three episodes of Ted Lasso, a series I'd expected to hate, but I like it a lot. It's sorta Frank Capra.

Later Tater Beans,
