Here I am again.
Sunny and warm today. Currently, it's 87˚F, with the heat index at a slightly cooler 86˚F.
I managed a tiny bit of work today, proofing the geology section and its accompanying figure (lithostratigraphy plus ostracode, nannoplankton, and planktonic foraminera zones) for the next turtle paper (with Drew Gentry and Jim Parham). Even that scrap felt like a great accomplishment. Baby steps.
I finished Jeff VanderMeer's Borne today, which I truly loved. No idea what I'm reading next.
Day before yesterday we watched the first three episodes of Season Two of The Boys, and while I very much enjoyed Season One, Season two feels...tired. Like everything was said in Season One, and now it's all gratuitous gore and cynicism.
