Today I answered a lot of email. I talked with my agent about talking with her (on the actual phone) this Friday, and I talked with Bill Schafer at SubPress, and I talked with folks at Tor.com. The galleys for The Tindalos Asset arrive here tomorrow. Of course, they then go into one of the quarantine boxes. Fortunately, NYC doesn't need my corrections until May 1st.
Wouldn't it be ironic if Trump – who pretends to be a Republican, the way Sanders pretends to be a Democrat – triggered some weird civil war by challenging states' rights? I mean, it probably wouldn't be a shooting war, but...still. A "Republican" claiming total authority and attempting to deny states' rights. It's Opposite Day, right?
Dinner was leftover black-eyed peas. Last night, Spooky made black-eyed peas and turnip greens and cornbread, and beps are always better the second night.
Tonight we watched the new episode of Better Call Saul, and then we rented Cathy Yan's Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Which I found utterly charming. This was a great surprise, as I'd expected to hate it – based on a meh trailer and the wretched mess that was Suicide Squad. But I liked it...a lot. Now I think we're gonna watch an episode of Mrs. Maisel before bed.
Here in Alabama, there are now 3,953 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with 620 in Jefferson County and 235 in Shelby County.
