An absolute black shitfest of a day. Cold weather and a hideous blue sky I couldn't avoid. Those skies are rare down here, but they find me, when I am least expecting it. Vacant, dead skies without depth or mercy.

We spent a chunk of the day at my mother's in Leeds doing laundry.

I think I have to stop going to Leeds. Like Birmingham, after decades of changing hardly at all, it has suddenly thrown itself into a paroxysm of destruction, and I can't simultaneously watch Leeds and Birmingham die.
