Sunny today, but there are storms on the way. Currently, it's 84˚F, with the heat index at 90˚F. yesterday, we had a couple of rounds of really stupendous thunderstorms.

Today, I get to work on the third Dancy Flammarion story of the year, "Refugees." I'm going to try to get it in no less than two weeks, but my plans rarely see, these days, to go as planned.

I'm coming off a three-day migraine. Yesterday, I finally gave up and spent a chunk of the day lying on the living-room floor. First I read most of Fantastic Worlds: The Art of William Stout, and then I watched an old Nova episode about Hurricane Katrina. A smarter person would have just lain there and tried not to moan. But a defect in my ability to recuperate has always been my tendency towards boredom. Anyway, I feel much better today.

Last night, we finished the rewatch of Breaking Bad. My god, what a harrowing, magnificent, horrific story. This time around, I found it hard to see Walter White as anything but a monster driven, ultimately, by nothing but the most ruthless self interest, and I feel like the real soul of the thing is the unfortunate Jesse Pinkman, the tweaker with a heart of gold. The last episode remains a work of brilliance. Now we can start season two of Mindhunter.

Please have a look at the current eBay auctions. Plus, here's a link to Spooky's Dreaming Squid Etsy shop, where she's gonna be putting up lots of Halloween goodies of her own design. And they sell like the proverbial hotcakes, so take note.
