Lydia has a hard life.

The sun came out yesterday, and it's still out today. Currently, it's 42˚F, with the windchill at 37˚F. But there's another winter storm on its way.

Yesterday, I wrote 1,010 words on this story that has yet to get a proper title. I need to finish it by tomorrow evening.

Welcome to the monotony parade.

I've been essentially social media and news free for over a week now, and today I am allowing myself a few posts on Facebook (aside from the LJ entries). But I am so much less angry and anxious for my time away.

Last night, Spooky made barbecued chicken in the crock pot, with sauce we brought back from Rusty's in Leeds, baked with apples, potatoes, pearl onions, garlic, and green bell peppers. We'll have the leftovers tonight. After dinner, there was more Deadliest Catch, and then I read "New exceptional specimens of Prognathodon overtoni (Squamata, Mosasauridae) from the upper Campanian of Alberta, Canada, and the systematics and ecology of the genus" until I was sleepy.

Sunny and warmer today. We made it to 78˚F. Last night's low was 40˚F. The study of literature threatens to become a kind of paleontology of…
