Lydia has a hard life.

The sun came out yesterday, and it's still out today. Currently, it's 42˚F, with the windchill at 37˚F. But there's another winter storm on its way.

Yesterday, I wrote 1,010 words on this story that has yet to get a proper title. I need to finish it by tomorrow evening.

Welcome to the monotony parade.

I've been essentially social media and news free for over a week now, and today I am allowing myself a few posts on Facebook (aside from the LJ entries). But I am so much less angry and anxious for my time away.

Last night, Spooky made barbecued chicken in the crock pot, with sauce we brought back from Rusty's in Leeds, baked with apples, potatoes, pearl onions, garlic, and green bell peppers. We'll have the leftovers tonight. After dinner, there was more Deadliest Catch, and then I read "New exceptional specimens of Prognathodon overtoni (Squamata, Mosasauridae) from the upper Campanian of Alberta, Canada, and the systematics and ecology of the genus" until I was sleepy.

TTFN,
Aunt Beast

I am glad your experiment has had good results w. less anger and anxiety. I've been limiting news and social media - unfollowed or unfriended ppl/groups in an attempt to control what I see/read. I do keep in touch w. family via FB bc that has become our default communication system. I realized I either needed more medication or less social media news and I'd rather not gork myself into a stupor.

BBQ chicken sounds delicious. Are the apples added the same as the onions and potatoes at the beginning, or later in the cooking? Thinking I will have to try making this w. apples. I already do a version w. carrots/onions/potatoes and a good sauce. I usually bake cornbread and if I'm inspired I will make simple slaw for a bit of fresh/green/vinegar.
