Entry No. 5,233

This morning, I was fired by my psychiatrist. In thirty years of psychotherapy, that's a first.

It's overcast and oddly balmy. Currently, 55˚F, windchill at 51˚F. But the high Sunday is forecast for 27˚F, so there you go.

If you haven't yet seen The End of the F***ing World on Netflix, you really need to. If Wes Andersen remade True Romance, it might look something like this brilliant gem.

That happened to a friend, and another felt it was likely if she didn't do her "homework", so it might be a trend. I guess it's the most ethical thing to do when you feel you can't help someone, but it should be an explicit part of the therapeutic "contract" right from the start.

I hope the emotional fallout isn't too painful, and doesn't take too long to process.

I've never been 'fired,' although I have had several psychotherapists refuse to work with me because they said they felt unqalified.

Also, your taste and mine regarding television and films are usually not aligned, but on your recommendation my family started watching The End of the F***ing World and we all adore it.
