Sunny and 80˚F. We're looking at a high of 87˚F.

Yesterday, I wrote 1,976 words and finished "Theoretically Forbidden Morphologies," which finished up at 5,761 words. I also read "Virtual reexamination of a plesiosaurian specimen (Reptilia, Plesiosauria) from the Late Cretaceous (Turonian) of Goulmima, Morocco, using computed tomography" in the latest Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology. Last night we watched the first two episodes of Star Trek: Discovery, and I was really delighted with it, even the Klingon redesign. It's certainly the best looking Star Trek to date. I do wish that Michelle Yeoh could have stuck around a little longer.

This afternoon, I have a meeting with Christopher Geissler at the Hay (Brown University).

Aunt Beast

It's too early to tell about Star Trek: Discovery, though I liked it and the set and character designs were very good. I saw on IMDB that Michelle Yeoh is credited for all 15 episodes so they might pull something out of the hat concerning her character...computer program maybe, clone or maybe revived and held as a prisoner of war by the Klingon warriors? That last is pretty out of character but we have new authors in a new time period so there's no telling what they will change in the old canon.
