Yesterday, I didn't write very much, because Spooky went out to take care of some errands, and an asshole ran a stop sign and broadsided her. She's okay, but the van is likely totaled. The other driver was in an SUV, and he hit her passenger side with enough force that his license plate was embedded in the side of our van. The cop who came to the scene pulled it loose, but two bolts that had held the plate on are stuck into the side of the van like bullets. Spooky's mom came and took her to an urgent care facility, so she wouldn't have to sit in an ER for hours and hours. This morning, she's sore, but, all in all, we were lucky. Fortunately, he didn't hit the driver's side and no one was in the passenger seat. But now we are stranded without a vehicle for however many weeks or months it takes to wade through all the insurance crap. The guy who hit her was driving a friend's car and going well above the speed limit. The cop said there's no question as to who was at fault.
I have seen drivers in very many cities, and, trust me, Rhode Island drivers are some of the worst in the nation.
And that's enough for now. I have to write.
