My five year old cat Charlie had Stivate crystals in in penis,to much dry food. Had to put a catheter in the guy(The vet, not me). Vet told me to give him special food which is dry. He won't eat it the special food, isn't drinking either. I'm thinking I have take back to the vet. I do some research, to much dry caused the problem, I hope. Switched to a raw meat diet,(Turkey.)and he ate that for a while. Now I have him on a watered down caned food. Cats! Why can't anything be easy?
My gf's cat had that problem. We fed him Royal Canin Urinary SO which was prescribed by the vet. He liked the food and it worked. It was also safe for the other cats to eat.
