Yesterday it was warm enough that I went to the market without my coat. Today, the cold is back. Currently, it's 35˚F, with the windchill at 22˚F. Tonight, we'll reach a low of 17˚F, with a windchill of 1˚F. But we'll be back in the fifties by Sunday. Winter is dying. I made it through another one without buying a new coat (the grey coat I usually wear, I bought it in December 2001).

Yesterday brought an offer to teach at college writing workshop* and someone else wanting to translate "Galápagos" into Czech. I received a royalty check for $1.13. But I didn't get any writing done. Germination turned into confusion a few days back. I've shelved "The Love Song of J. Alfred Morlock" (I'll come back to it), and I'm writing a different piece for Sirenia Digest #121.

Please have a look at the current eBay auctions.

Last night, we saw Jay Roach's Trumbo (2015), which I thought was quite good despite the multitude of historical inaccuracies.

Yes, well. Every blog entry can't be solid fucking titillating gold, now can it?

Good luck. Based on my experiences with students at the university lately, get ready for more spelling errors than you'd imagine and an impressive inability to follow simple instructions.

Well, this is a workshop run by a university, not an actual university class. Not the same thing.

Ah, sounds nice. I hope it's as painless as that sounds.

Writing Workshop
You may be pleasantly surprised. It's worth more than the money--even though getting paid for it is nice.

$1.13 Nice. If you get another one you can buy a taco!

Workshops are fun (usually). Should be low pressure?

I have no idea. I've never attended a workshop.

I haven't been to a writing workshop, but I've been to several art workshops which have always been fairly relaxed and the people who are there are actually attentive and glad to be there. Usually low numbers, but not always. You might get a little bit of fawning from the attendees.
