Cooler weather. Currently it's only 77˚F and partly cloudy. We begin to approach green autumn.

Yesterday I wrote 1,017 words on Agents of Dreamland.

And I'm feeling bad about how often these entries are so very, very short, how my LJ entries of late don't bear much resemblance to the more meaty entries of years past. But the truth is that readership here bottomed out a long time ago, and it's hard to motivate myself to write on LJ at length. I'll likely keep the journal going, out of habit, and because I think there are interesting days ahead. Maybe another year, maybe a little more.

I'm not quite awake. Seven hours and all the drugs, they leave me groggy and turned about.

I try to keep reading but hardly ever comment and less often read the comments section to my f-list even when I read the entries simply because of longer hours working than I used. And just an overall energy drain. Too many bad things happening on too regular a basis. Don't know if the latter part of this is effecting others, but the former certainly seems to be a nation and quite possibly world wide phenomena--more people working longer and harder simply to keep in place or not fall too far behind. And that sort of additional stress spread wide *could* make both individuals and families in general more susceptible to illness and other sorts of hardship, which in turn effects everyone around them and so on.

If you're dead tired or too worried about someone or something to think straight, it's a lot easier to retweet or favorite something than it is to write an extended comment or blog post (actually writing something meaningful in the length of a tweet? That actually is really hard, imo, and I at least haven't acquired the knack for it, tho for many others that also seems easier than writing longer form).

Facebook and tumbler I avoid for a variety of reasons, but the current herd instinct does seem to favor them over lj, for whatever reason. But hey, these things sometimes run in cycles, and lj may have bottomed out; it could be due for an upswing.

eta: this was not meant to be a downer comment; I like reading thoughtful posts and wish there were more of them. Was just trying to make a guess as to traffic and the migration away from lj; hopefully there will be a return before the combo of things getting better and people recovering from the very, very extended downturn.
