So, yesterday I ventured out into the bitter cold. And it was bitter. Warmer, I am told, that the preceding days. Which is terrifying. I was outside for a total of one hour and six minutes, which means that I've spent 0.51% of the past 13 days outside. Go me. We went to the mall downtown, and I got a copy of Jacob's Ladder used and Guardians of the Galaxy on Blu-ray. We encountered two escalators and an elevator that were out of order. The day was grey and ugly and snow scabbed, just like today. Here are two images, which pretty much perfectly sum up the day:

"There's a story here," I said to Spooky.

Me, I'm in love with Hang Me High Elmo.

I also proofread "Galápagos," which took about an hour and a half. Today, I need to plow through at least three stories.

I love the photo of the lone shoe, but I don't get the hanging Elmo. The sticker is interesting. I can't identify with your long stints of remaining indoors as my job keeps me out of the house at least ten hours of the day on weekdays. Do you find you work best in your office? I remember when you'd post photos of your outings to get work done at the library.

Love the photos.
I need to start taking photos of the odd things I find on my jaunts around the neighborhood. A single playing card (ace of hearts), lone shoes of varying manner, a baby sock, a cat's collar with only a bell and no tag.

S. King
Escalators, ugh! Stephen King kept stories of escalators malfunctioning, and eating people. Now I have those stories in my head.
