The cold is back, as it's opened the door for the evil, insane, black shit that hides, always, behind my eyes. I don't know – I honestly do not fucking know – how I'm going to make it through another Rhode Island winter. No, actually, I don't know how I'm going to make it through another Rhode Island autumn.

I haven't left the house since Monday. It's rained for days, now.

There's been nothing of consequence, nothing worth mentioning except that my two contributor's copies of the Centipede Press edition of The Drowning Girl: A Memoir arrived on Tuesday. I can honestly say that no edition of any book I've ever written has ever been even half this beautiful. Thank you, everyone who made it happen. Please note that Subterranean Press has sold out of the edition, and it will likely sell out completely by the end of October. So, if you'd like a copy, you should order directly from Centipede Press very soon. I have two photos from the Opening of the Box:

And, frankly, I have nothing else to say. It would only come out mean and shitty.

Congratulations on the arrival of the Centipede Press tome - I'm currently staring longingly at the extracts featured on the website. Oh those Michael Zulli sketches...

Also very envious of your beautiful display case.

It's a beautiful book. I'm thinking about talking to the artists about offering prints.

I'm thinking about talking to the artists about offering prints.

I would love that.

I like that no ceremony of the Opening of the Box is complete without an Investigating Cat.

The Drowning Girl is such a beautiful book that it is worthy of a beautiful edition. Congratulations! And what a wonderful idea to have prints made. I expect that choosing which illustrations to set off as prints will be difficult.

Oh, I know which two I'd want offered.

It's been a shitty day on this coast too.

I can honestly say that no edition of any book I've ever written has ever been even half this beautiful.

Congratulations on the Centipede Press edition and how fantastically it exceeded your expectations of the release...cool photos indeed!

I did not exceed my expectations. I'm pretty sure I didn't say that.

My apologies. I tried to put what I was thinking into my own words, and ended up skewing what you had stated in the process.
