Why Paleontologists Hate Rhode Island

Of course, this makes more sense with an interpretive chart. But, trust me. Crap rocks for fossils. Almost all igneous and metamorphic. Phooey.

Rhode Island.
Rhode Island looks like a diseased patchwork back-of-the-knee to me. Anyone else?
Joking.
Just finished "Blood Oranges", laughed aloud when the seagull told Quinn to shut her eyes, count to ten and open them again. (I can't believe you fell for that!) I can't help but love those snarky birds that seem to show up lately in your writing. First Dancy's bird, and now Siobhan's (I mean Quinn's)?!?!
Cheers! (Can't wait for "Red Delicious"!)

Thanks for the one line explanation of why it's crap rocks for fossils. Best part, I actually remembered enough about geology to know _why_. Yay brainmeats working :)

Sedimentary rock was always my preferred rock. Igneous and metamorphic are boring.

Also, in regards to your previous post, "Precious Things" is one of my favorite songs by Tori.

Same with PA. No dinos. Colorado certainly was another story- breaking ground for another subdivision=Triceratops skull. Mammoths. Baby Stegosaur footprints. Did you ever see the wall at Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison with the Iguanodontian footprints? I have a cast of one...

Thought I'd try one last time before I lose Internet for a week; perhaps 3rd time's the charm. Do you have a link to other maps of this type? I'm looking for geological info on upper Maine and lower Canada coastline for a story I feel like writing. Thanks! (If you've been ignoring these requests because you're pissed at me and I've been too dense to notice, let me know and I'll buzz off)
