"It's in my honey. It's in my milk."

I woke to clouds, but the sun seems to be coming out now. Yesterday, the temperature in Providence reached an unreasonably unseasonable 71˚ of Fahrenheit. It was actually warm. Things are blooming. Hardly two weeks before we had a blizzard. Yesterday's warmth melted most of the last of the snow. Toady, it will be a little cooler, likely only 65˚F. Oh, the sun's going away again. Currently, it's 53˚F.

Tonight is the book launch for Agents of Dreamland at Lovecraft Arts & Sciences Council here in downtown Providence (The Arcade, 65 Weybosset Street). Though the street date for the book isn't until the 28th, Tor.com got copies to the shop, so it will be on sale. Sonya Taaffe will be reading before me, and then she'll do a question and answer session with me, afterwards. I hope to see you there.

Last night, I dropped my Lamictal dose from 150mg back down to 100mg, because it's been messing up my stomach.

So, since sometime back in the autumn I've been threatening to have all of my hair cut off. Yesterday, I went to Hairlab on Wickenden Street and did it. There are photos behind the cut, below. Something like fourteen or fifteen inches came off. I felt a razor on the back of my neck for the first time in thirty years. It's actually possible this is the shortest haircut I've ever had, all the way back to infancy. And I'm actually going to be shaving the sides closer in a few days. A good bit of the jettisoned hair will be going to a charity, though we have yet to settle on one. I'm really extremely happy with this cut. As I told someone yesterday, I feel as if a great weight has been lifted from off me.

Resistance, Peace, and Compassion,
Aunt Beast

Just wanted to say hi! Your journal popped up on the LJ home page and you seem very interesting! I've added you and wanted to say hello. Also, excellent hair!!! I have very long, very heavy hair and have also been toying with the idea of a cut. Yours looks great!

Oh dear, I traveled to Providence in April of 2012. Weybosset St sounds familiar still.

Holey moley, that's dramatic! What a chic cut. Very cool.

That looks cool. Some blue and/or purple highlights would fit well with it too.

Looks great! And it looks like it's going to be an "unreasonably unseasonably" warm (hot!) summer, if this early spring weather is any indication, so it will keep you cool and comfortable in the heat, hopefully.

It looks even better in person.

The haircut looks great. I've been growing my hair long for years now but I've had looks ranging from completely shaved and everywhere in between. I keep toying with the idea of shaving it all off again but I always change my mind.
